He has been using Echizen clay for more than 30 years. His first priority is the clay, second is the bake, and the third is the shape. He has devoted himself to creating the authentic Echizen ware.
At present, he is making modern works using his talent in decoration, especially Senkokumon works using the firewood kiln.

1944

Born in Fukui City

1973

Opened Hachiku Kiln pottery in Echizen-cho (former Miyazaki village), Fukui prefecture

1981

First personal exhibition at Fukui Yours Hotel (exhibiting 100 pots baked in a climbing kiln)

1994

Authorized as Echizen ware traditional craftsman

1994

Received Miyazaki Village Culture Encouraging Prize

1997

Certified as a member of Japan Kogei Association

2000

Commended by the governor as a superior inheritor of traditional crafts in Fukui Prefecture

2002

Received the prize of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister in National Traditional Craft Exhibition

2002

Commended by the chief of Kinki Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry

2003

Personal exhibition at Fukui City Museum "World of line carving"

2006

Superior work exhibition of Japan Traditional Craftsman Association at Mitsukoshi head store
